Production Manager

The purpose of the Production Manager is to provide leadership, manage daily manufacturing operations to meet production goals, and drive Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Cost Improvements that will add value to the Rockwell Automation, East Setauket facility.
Essential Functions:
Manages and prioritizes production floor to support production planning and order requirements.
Analyze daily labor demand vs labor capacity and redeploy resources as needed. Communicate resource issues to management.
Manage cross-training of labor pool to ensure sufficient "bench depth" in all work centers as required.
Communicate production output and quality expectations to production staff, monitor performance in terms of variance to standard, labor utilization, and labor efficiency.
Drive policy deployment for production area including KPI charts, action plans and countermeasures.
Use and promote Rockwell Production System (RPS) and Lean Manufacturing concepts to drive continuous improvement.
Lead and monitor projects to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity, and Cost.
Ensure all departmental and corporate procedures are being followed.
Lead 5S initiatives to improve department environment and efficiency.
Demonstrate operational leadership including successful Lean implementation resulting in productivity gains. Meet with the Value Stream Leaders regularly, reflecting on problems, solutions, and challenges, thereby creating a culture of continuous improvement and contributing towards becoming a learning organization.
Emphasize the creation of continuous product flow, utilize pull systems where flow is not currently possible, and work to level the workload.
Assist with problem solving efforts to improve quality, cost, delivery, safety or inventory deficiencies.
Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Keep equipment (tools, fixtures, test equipment, etc) operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
Team player - able to work seamlessly with Engineering, Operations, Sales, Product Management and Customer Support Associates. May serve as a resource for those with less experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
