Summary


The Business Development Officer works within a designated territory to drive new sales of the firm&s;s investment and advisory services. S/he is an ambitious self-starter with a stellar sales track record, a strategic sales approach, and a keen interest in business development.


This role will have an Upper Middle Market client focus. S/he will have a consistent partnership with RMs and will coordinate with execution leadership/management and the market leader&s;s prospecting efforts. There will likely be an opportunity to work across markets and assist other region heads with strategic prospects.


Duties &a; Responsibilities




  • Coordinates all prospect meetings and final presentations; support request-for-proposal activities and any other sales activities related to the pipeline


  • Cultivates and maintain relationships with key contacts and business partners within your assigned territory


  • Develops strong internal relationships with our client advisors, portfolio managers, investment staff, marketing team, and senior management


  • Manages the sales process, including sourcing new opportunities, conceiving and presenting unique solutions to meet client needs, and involving the appropriate team members to scope the feasibility and negotiate pricing to bring the opportunity to a close


  • Meets and exceeds annual revenue targets by maintaining a full sales pipeline of opportunities with both new prospects and existing clients


  • Meets other sales metrics as required, such as forecasting, prospect calling, and client visits


  • Utilize corporate technology resources including CRM to document and track prospect and client interactions


  • Tracks all sales-related activities and generate sales activity reports


  • Uses strategic and consultative selling techniques, plus knowledge of the business and potential solutions, to meet a revenue-based sales quota by calling directly on prospective clients within the assigned territory; supports the firm&s;s sales efforts outside of the assigned territory as needed

  • Bachelor&s;s Degree or equivalent work experience - Business, Finance, Economics, or equivalent field

  • 12-15 years relevant business experience - prospecting and managing clients within the commercial banking space

  • Ability to analyze/understand leading technologies and companies

  • Ability to influence and drive complex initiatives and manage logistics with internal stakeholders

  • Ability to translate data into information

  • Ability to travel within assigned territory as required
